November 2017 is men’s health awareness month, and because of this, several different organisations and campaigns have been set up in order to share the essential facts and figures that are so necessary to make a lasting change in today’s society, covering both mental and physical illnesses.

The situation of decline in men’s health alongside men dying on average 6 years earlier than women, has prompted charitable causes such as the Movember foundation to grow in the support of fighting serious issues such as testicular cancer, prostate cancer, mental health and suicide across the UK as well as the rest of the world, with over 5,500,000 members of the public showing support.

These are the reasons that result in the organisation being completely independent from government funding so that it is possible to research and spend funds how the foundation sees most effective, and have even predicted that campaigns like this are extremely likely to reduce premature deaths in men by a huge 25%.

The Movember Foundation have been established to promote awareness and donations through sponsors in order to fight these factors impeding men, and is supported by not only the general public, but also other major health organisations such as The Institute of Cancer Research, and Prostate Cancer UK, providing a huge base of knowledge and support around the world.

The basis of the campaign is to grow a moustache over the month of November, receiving sponsors or donations and generally increasing awareness of not only the organisation, but the causes themselves also by sharing various content, if not participating directly.
